Reminiscences entitled "Memories of Happenings Among the Pioneers of Southern Wisconsin," written by a Dane County resident, recounting his own experiences and those of his father, William H. Fox, who settled in Wisconsin in 1842. Numerous anecdotes concern pioneer living conditions as well as wildlife, relations with the Indians, and friendships with well-known Wisconsin contemporaries, including George W. Peck, Edward G. Ryan, and William F. Vilas.
